                  Job Description

                  The Kroger Co. currently has an opening for a supervisory 
management position in our Infrastructure Management Group.  The selected 
candidate will supervise a team of 10 people supporting mainframe network 
program products and file transfer products on mainframe and server platforms. 
This technical group supports Mainframe products including VTAM, NCP, TPX 
software and associated network hardware. This group also supports the 
enterprise file transfer environment on mainframe and server platforms. File 
transfer products include Connect Direct, Connect Enterprise, Cyclone and 
Xcellenet.  

                   


                  Duties 

                           Personnel administration for staff including 
reviews, salary administration, career and skill development.

                           General administrative duties, including management 
reporting, budget control.

                           Overall team project ownership including initiation, 
monitoring, planning and control. 

                           Develop and communicate enterprise architectural 
strategies for file transfers on all supported operating systems and B2B.   

                           Develop standards and procedures for Enterprise 
Computing Standards.  

                           Provide architecture consulting to business projects 
to ensure file transfer guidance and compliance.  

                           Support and implement file transfer infrastructure 
components for corporate and business units.  Provide day-to-day support.

                   

                  Job Requirements

                           Robust people skills; a proven leader. 

                           Proven skills in guiding infrastructure direction 
and strategy for a large enterprise and ability to communicate it to business 
and management levels. 

                           E-business experience desirable.

                           Proven decision making abilities; must be able to 
understand the enterprise goals and match proper technology to address tactical 
and long-term issues.  

                           Technically oriented must have experience with 
Enterprise environments on multiple platforms.  

                           Experience in leading a strategy group and support 
group.  

                           Experience in capital budget planning and 
administration. 

                           Demonstrated expertise in medium to large-size 
project management and planning skills is required. 

                           Demonstrated problem solving and organizational 
skills is required.  

                           Good oral communication and technical writing skills.
