> I am currently conducting a search for a Division CIO for a heavy duty
equipment manufacturer.  Any assistance you can provide to me would be
greatly appreciated. Here are the details:

> Our client is a leading heavy duty equipment manufacurer. The company is a
fast paced, hard charging environment that values employee safety,
productivity and return on invested capital. This position reports directly
to This position reports directly to the Corporate Vice President,
Information Systems and the Division President.
>
> The principal reports to this position are a Business Manager for
Manufacturing systems, Technical analysts for Engineering and PC Services, a
Telecomm analyst and an analyst for aftermarket parts. In total, there are
presently 17 IT positions in the division.The company uses various modules
of JD Edwards to assist its business operations and Catia to support
engineering operations.
> Qualifications
> The preferred academic background for candidates would be a technical
undergraduate degree (engineering, production, computer science, etc.) with
a Masters degree in a technical or business area, or equivalent experience.
> This position requires a seasoned general manager with executive
"presence" and thorough knowledge of manufacturing, engineering and supply
chain operations. Candidates should have had broad exposure to all major
functional areas in IT/IS and should have a measurable track record in
developing people and a demonstrated ability to work with senior executives
as a key member of the executive team guiding the company concerning I/S
topics. Candidates should have a minimum of 10-12 years of management
experience at a Director level or above in managing an IS organization, with
overall experience in IS of 15+ years, most of which should have been in
applications development. They should also have a broad exposure to all
functions in Information Systems and should have a measurable track record
in developing people.
> Experience
> Candidates must have demonstrated a progressive accomplishment in the
following technical and management areas:
> 1)  Managerial:
> a.  Led an applications development group.
> b.  Strategic planning and leadership in the application of information
technology.
> c.  Mission critical project management experience.
> d.  Management of complex budgets and projects
> e.  Ability to negotiate complex service-level agreements/contracts
> f.  Ability to influence indirect staff and their management toward shared
goals
> 2)  Technical:
> a.  Client/Server application development
> b.  Data warehouse/data mart development and management
> d.  Decision support application development
> e.  Ad hoc reporting tools and methods
> f.  Application development methodologies
> g.  Technical infrastructure management (LAN/WAN, Desktop,
Internet/Intranet)
> 3)  Other:
> a.  Experience in developing information technology products for business
units
> b.  Ability to convey complex technical subject to customers, peers and
management
