> The client is a $2 Billion Plus company located in the Northeast and
employs approximately 11,000 people in 30 countries worldwide. It serves
multiple markets through its Life and Laboratory Sciences, Measurement and
Control and Optical Technologies business sectors. Global Operations
Reports To: Vice President, Global Operations

> A technical, managerial level position reporting directly to the
company's Vice President of Global Operations. Position is responsible for
leading continuous improvement concepts related to Operational Excellence -
Practical Process Improvement throughout the company worldwide. Assists
management with training and implementation of Practical Process
Improvement. Will interface with all functions within the company.
> Along with the VP Global Operations, provides training resources,
materials and support as required to advance an OE culture within the
company focused on process improvement. Leads implementation of Practical
Process Improvement (PPI) by conducting and coordinating training throughout
the company. Provides guidance as necessary and assists company management
in identifying organizational needs to support OE. Participates in the
Operational Excellence and Manufacturing Councils. Minimum Qualifications:
> In conjunction with the VP Global Operations develops, implements
and leads PPI throughout the company.
> Develops training materials and resources for the PPI methodology
and tools to meet the needs of the company.
> Conducts training and assists division management as required
working specific PPI initiatives.
> Creates and maintains a network of completed PPI projects that can
be easily accessed by employees within the to share best practices within
the company.
> Stays abreast of new quality systems, methodologies and tools to
advance, and improve PPI over time.
> Conducts internal and external benchmarking to aid discovery of new
improvement practices being employed.
> Works closely with management, PPI Process Champions and
Facilitators to remove obstacles and break down barriers to advance PPI
within the company. In conjunction with the VP Global Operations, works with
Human Resources to assess company wide organizational PPI support and needs.
> Will interface with corporate, division management, suppliers and
customers in developing a learning organization focused on continuous
improvement.
> Requires college degree in business or a technical field . (Masters
Preferred)
> Extensive knowledge of quality theory and continuous improvement
methodologies and tools . Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts .
Knowledge of manufacturing fabrication and production processes . A minimum
of five years managerial and / or technical leadership role in a quality or
engineering position . Accomplished written and oral communication skills .
Be willing to travel, extensive at times . Must be comfortable working as a
team member Must maintain high ethical standards to support a professional
business code of conduct
