I have a client in Austin, TX, who is looking for either contractors or
permanent employees for these 3 positions. If contract, they will be for 4
months. Contract rate will be $40/hr - $55/hr and will be DOE. For full
time, permanent, the Salary will in the range of $80K - $100K/year. No
relocation package. All positions start in January, and client is
interviewing TODAY.
Client requires either US citizenship or permanent resident status. They
will NOT sponsor H1 Visas.
Position 1) Senior Software developer
Responsibilities
Sub-system or component level design of multi-threaded distributed
applications
Coding and debugging multi-threaded distributed applications
Development and execution of unit test cases and automated unit tests
Participating in the execution of system integration tests and overall
system verification tests
Maintaining and enhancing released products
Working collaboratively with other developers in a team environment
Mandatory Requirements
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field required
5+ years in-depth knowledge and experience designing and developing
distributed multi-tiered applications in Windows and Linux environments
5+ years in-depth experience developing multi-threaded applications in C++
or Java on the Windows platform
5+ years in-depth knowledge and experience with OO design, implementation
tools and methodologies
5+ years in-depth knowledge and experience with TCP/IP communications,
real-time networked distributed systems, and internet tools and protocols
5+ years in-depth experience with troubleshooting distributed application
problems and issues in large multi-tiered application environments
In-depth knowledge and experience developing Windows services
In-Depth experience with XML and SOAP or some other RPC such as DCOM or
CORBA
Ability to handle the high risk and pressures of an early stage start-up
company
A strong commitment to contribute to the building of a successful company
US citizenship or permanent resident status
Desired Background
In-depth knowledge and experience designing and developing web server based
applications using the following: IIS (or Apache), ASP (or JSP), EJB,
ActiveX, and COM
Experience with Microsoft .NET, C#, and WMI
Experience with relational database management systems
Experience with server virtualization products
Experience with systems management and or management tools such as Tivoli,
BMC, HP Openview, and/or NetIQ

Position 2) Windows UI developer
Responsibilities
User Interface layout, design, prototyping, and usability testing
Development of Windows-based GUIs for systems management applications
Assist in the definition of SOAP/XML interface to the central management
system
Unit and integration testing of application GUIs
Maintaining released GUI products
Working collaboratively with other developers on a team
Mandatory Requirements
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field required
5+ years in-depth knowledge and experience designing and developing
interactive Windows Application GUIs using C++, Visual Basic, and/or C# for
distributed asynchronous systems
3+ years in-depth experience with Win32 API, XML, HTML, ActiveX and XSLT
Ability to take use cases and design user centric application GUIs that
interface with distributed asynchronous systems
Ability to handle the high risk and pressures of an early stage start-up
company
A strong commitment to building a successful company
US citizenship or permanent resident status
Desired Background
Experience with user-centered design and usability evaluations
Experience with systems management and system administrator users
Experience with GUI representations of large scale computing environments
Experience with Microsoft .NET
Experience with asynchronous interactions with remote systems using an RPC
such as SOAP, DCOM, or CORBA

Position 3) Test Technical Lead
Responsibilities
Defining verification methods, tools, and configurations for product testing
Defining, updating, and executing test cases and plans
Leading, coordinating, tracking, and providing status on verification test
efforts
Develop automated test frameworks and test cases for automated user,
performance, and stress test suites
Manage verification lab resources and test configurations
Develop support tools to automate and improve the product development
process
Mandatory Requirements
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field required
5+ years in-depth knowledge and experience developing automated verification
test tools and performing hands on verification using C# (or Java), Visual
Basic, C++, or C in a Windows product environment
3+ years in-depth experience with VBScript (or JavaScript), XML, HTML,
ActiveX, ASP (or JSP), and XSLT
3+ years in-depth knowledge and expertise with software test strategies and
planning
3+ years in-depth experience with software test tools and methodologies
3+ years In-depth knowledge and experience with Windows and Linux networks
and machines
Experience with troubleshooting distributed application problems and issues
in large multi-tiered application environments
Ability to implement software test methodologies for a fast paced
development environment building distributed .NET (or Java), Internet, or
web-based applications
Experience with networking configurations, Internet tools and protocols
Ability to handle the high risk and pressures of an early stage start-up
company
A strong commitment to contribute to the building of a successful company
US citizenship or permanent resident status
Desired Background
Ability to lead a team of test engineers developing and performing
distributed application verification
Experience with server virtualization products
Experience with Microsoft .NET
