We're seeking a Senior Oracle DBA with a minimum of 7 years expertise,
SQL coding, UNIX environment and scripting skills. Candidate must have
strong production support troubleshooting skills, ability to handle high
volume alerts, respond to mission critical calls and exhibit a strong
approach to troubleshooting large databases.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Oracle Apps Database performance tuning
* Must have a willingness to learn and perform basic SQL Server
administration functions
* Use best practices to recommend query optimization to developers.
* Review overall physical database structures for data integrity,
performance quality, recoverability, maintenance, and space requirement
considerations
* Assist in the definition and resolution of database problems.
* Work closely with applications development teams to ensure proper data
modeling and design paradigms are applied in the creation and ongoing
maintenance of respective databases, to ensure efficient data access in
application programs, and to review test benchmarks.
 
Job Skill Requirements.
* Thorough knowledge of the Oracle Applications Framework, architecture,
and technology stack
* Oracle Apps Expertise on 11i releases (11.5.3, 11.5.7, 11.5.10.x and
R12)
* Advanced skill level with Oracle Databases 9i and 10g administration
* Experience in Oracle Apps multiple release upgrade
* Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery
process/scenarios.
* Good understanding and experience of concurrent managers and PCP
* Experience Implementing and Troubleshooting Data Guard
* Thorough knowledge in Oracle Apps Cloning
* Experience with Oracle Discoverer (4.1/10g) Deployment and upgrades
* Must have Oracle application patching and database patching
experience.
* Must have experience in OAM and performance tuning of Concurrent
Managers
* Experience in configuring/managing environments with failover/high
availability requirements is a plus
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
. Extensive experience Oracle database optimization
. Extensive experience in logical and physical database design
. Effective interpersonal and communication skills
. Thorough understanding of the relational database model
. Knowledge of SQL Server a definite plus
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
* Six years experience working with Oracle Apps.
* Experience with at least one implementation initiative with Oracle
Apps.
* Participated in at least one Oracle Apps upgrade project.
