I was the person who mentioned the extended unemployment benefits (for
Ohio). I believe the state is still working out the details of notifying
people who qualify for extended benefits and determining the precise
distribution process. I don't know all the particulars, but you can find out
more information by visiting the Ohio Unemployment Benefits website at
http://unemployment.ohio.gov/.
Hope this helps,
Bob Winfree

Subject: [jsfg_cinti] Ohio Unemployment Compensation extended benefits
Hello all!
At the last JSFG membership meeting, a lady stood up and talked about
extended UC benefits becoming available for KY residents. Then a man stood
up after that and talked about the same extended benefits becoming available
for Ohio residents.
I live in Ohio, so I wasn't too interested in the lady's info, but I am
interested in what the gentleman had to say, but I didn't quite catch it
all. Does anyone recall what he said? Or if he could relay it to me that
would be appreciated. I didn't get his name. It might be helpful to put that
kind of info out on the listserve, if it hasn't already been done.
I thought I could file another UC claim, and in April I filed for them, but
they told me that since I had not been employed since my first claim expired
that I wasn't eligible for another claim until I was employed again for at
least 6 weeks in a row.
Thanks
Bill Matthews
