Purpose of Job 
The Manager of GAFRI Solutions oversees the day to day management of the
Internet/Intranet development team. This position is ultimately
responsible for introducing automated processes, implementing
standardized processes, providing day to day support and continuously
updating team processes and skills. This person will partner with the
infrastructure and applications areas in bringing projects to a
successful conclusion in support of GAFRI's strategic business goals. 
 
Responsibilities: 
* 
Performs at a manager leadership level, demonstrating initiative,
creativity, and promoting decision processes with the business and IT. 
* Responsible for establishing and directing the strategic direction of
the APD Gafri Solutions technology department. Coordinate and align
appropriate resources with multiple projects and/or initiatives. 
* Ability to plan, organize, control and direct the day to day
activities of the solutions development team. 
* Ensures that subordinate staff is provided opportunities for
individual development through cross-training, education and work
assignments. Mentor team members in project management and technical
skills, as appropriate. 
* Actively manages large-scale/complex projects addressing scope,
financial justifications, vendor selections, resource management,
timelines, critical tasks, and issue management. 
* Develops and deploys measurement and feedback tools to assess solution
effectiveness using traffic management tools and other forms of
measurement as appropriate. 
* Ensures that the department is adhering to the policies, procedures
and standards established for technology and processes. 
* Accountable for the department budget and for determining staffing
levels for all areas of responsibility. 
* Seeks IT industry best practices with responsibility to enhance
processes when appropriate. 
Associated Duties: 
* 
Assists IT Senior Management in strategic planning initiatives. 
* 
Researches and recommends new solutions and technologies to IT Senior
management via formal presentations and documents. 
 
Qualifications: 
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Science. 
* 8 or more years of experience in Web development leadership role. 
* Prior web development experience. 
* Knowledge of distributed application development tools. 
* Experience working with multiple development approaches, including
agile. 
* Prior workflow development experience. 
* A general understanding of IT infrastructure, architecture, and
applications as well as insurance practices and procedures. 
* Experience in managing multiple project teams and complex enterprise
type projects. 
* Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
* Ability to work independently, make sound business decisions and drive
a task to completion. 
Technical Knowledge: 
* Microsoft Project and/or Project Server - intermed
