Description:
This position is responsible for supporting the corporate data center  
hot-site initiative along with the maintenance, uptime, availability and

operational health on the Windows server and Unix platforms. This  
includes maintaining a level of technical expertise with the Windows and

Unix server environments including the Storage Area Network and  
Networking infrastructure. Must also be able to troubleshoot and resolve

issues with servers located in the Loveland - CTC and Memphis -  
Southwind data centers. The successful candidate should be able to work

with minimum supervision, conferring with a superior on unusual matters,

and may be assisted by entry/junior or intermediate level personnel.  
He/she will interact directly with vendors, internal support teams,  
application developers/owners, and end users for the purpose of  
supporting the server environment. Most assignments are broad, usually  
requiring originality and ingenuity.  
 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:  
Provide on-site or remote Windows server support to Loveland  
and Southwind data center servers. Provide Unix server support for  
Loveland data center servers, in cooperation with Unix Services.  
 
. Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives  
o Configure, deploy, and support Loveland hot-site data center  
environment  
o Maintain high level of expertise in variety of systems including  
Windows, Unix, Storage Area Networks, and Networking infrastructure in  
order to support production equipment in emergency situations.  
o Maintain documentation for the supported systems and processes.  
o Test Global Supply Chain disaster recovery procedures on a  
regular basis  
 
. Administration of Windows Intel and Unix servers  
o Second level troubleshooting for all Intel based Southwind and  
Loveland servers  
o Work with IT Groups to interface these systems as required to the  
existing infrastructure and network  
o Serve as third level support to assist Regional Administrators  
with maintenance of field servers.  
o Maintaining revision levels for all hardware/software that they  
have accountability for  
o Monitor Tivoli Storage Management (TSM) backups on Loveland intel  
servers. Managing the tape management process and backup configurations

at Loveland  
 
. Increasing the level of customer service that Loveland Data Center  
Operations (LDCO) team provides by:  
o Meeting or exceeding SLO/SLA expectations  
o Proposing and/or implementing process improvements that increase  
LDCO efficiency  
o Striving to "over communicate" with customers in the event of a  
server outage or other catastrophic event  
 
. Provide technical expertise to the Loveland Data Center Support team  
by:  
o Providing documentation on advanced technical issues  
o Keeping abreast of technological advances within the industry  
o Acting as a knowledge resource to other team members  
o Providing feedback relating to operational issues  
 
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:  
Typically has 4-6 years of professional experience, and appreciable  
latitude for unreviewed action or decision. Due to the  
24/7 support requirements of the position, the individual must be  
available for frequent on-call duty after hours, on weekends, and on  
holidays.  
 
. Expert knowledge with Windows 2000, and Windows Server 2003  
. In-depth experience with Unix server support including Sun/Solaris,  
SUN Cluster, AIX and Unix security  
. Knowledge of common enterprise applications and services (Active  
Directory, WINS, DNS, etc)  
. In-depth knowledge of Intel server and Unix hardware platforms  
. Windows 2000 and/or Windows Server 2003 MCSE preferred  
. Enterprise server administration experience required  
. TSM, EMC SAN and Cisco experience a plus  
. Network related experience for troubleshooting purposes
