POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Within the IT group, the Systems Analyst works on projects developing
systems to satisfy company needs. S/he will participate in the planning
phase and will be responsible for analysis and design phase activities,
as well as the construction phase of the project. Associate may be
working as an integrator of packaged software. Software solutions will
use a variety of languages, databases and development tools. This
position may work independently on assigned projects and may require
specialty skills in certain technologies such as (but not limited to):
JD Edwards, SQL Server, AS/400, as well as, specialty business knowledge
in the area of Fresh, Fresh Express and corporate operations.
 
The System Analyst works to provide support to existing systems and
databases.  Specifically, will provide support to users of a data
warehouse build on a relational database structure.  This support will
be in the form of assistance of existing reports and data and turning
users requirements into new report designs.
 
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning - Provides input into project planning activities. Helps
establish cost requirements and schedule for assigned activities.
Ensures development activities are in accordance with accepted
department methods.   
-Analysis - Participates in defining business area requirements and
develops business model.  Provides input into evaluation of application
design alternatives. Participates in conceptual design.   Assists in
evaluating alternatives (hardware/software) that meet business area
requirements and match approved technology platforms.  Typically
performs more technical tasks during the analysis phases
- Design - Participates in business system design of application from
user perspective. Participates in technical design of application
software components. May participate in data conversion design.
Participates in system design reviews.   Assists with system design
reviews and for developing business area requirements.  
- Construction - Develops complex application software components
through creation of source code specifications.  Participates in
application walk-thrus. Develops documentation for production system,
including user procedures, data center operations documentation and
security and recovery procedures. May lead system test and analysis of
test results.  Works closely with the global source code development
group throughout unit and QA testing. May be called upon to develop
query, supplemental reporting, interfaces and various other smaller-term
source-code based solutions to provide additional technical development
capacity as needed.
- Implementation - Participates with the user in acceptance testing.
Develops and provides user training. Monitors production system and
ensures user satisfaction. Provides maintenance and enhancements to
system to support changing business needs. Trouble shoots systems issues
that may arise, working with business user groups to find process and
technical solutions.  Develops user training materials and provides
training as necessary.   Works with available resources to ensure
training is adequate.
 

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
BS/BA
 
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in systems analysis, design, application
development and business systems support.   
 
Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess the following:
-Strong communication skills.
-Proficiency in the following technologies: database (SQL), web
technologies, AS/400, development technologies, EAI and EDI and business
intelligence (OLAP). 
 
Desired Qualifications
-Global experience 
-Earlier exposure to global ERP implementations (SAP, Oracle, JDE, etc)
and/or development experiences
