Subject: Dec 11 posting
Here are the present open assignments. Do not forget to keep me in mind when
you hear of companies needing assistance in their logistics staffing needs.
Do not ever hesitate to respond to one of these job postings. I do not have
room to share all of the requirements for the position so that is why it
would be benefical for you to respond. When you do respond please do share
your resume as this will allow me to get back to you quicker.
It is getting that time of the year when our mind goes toward the
celebration of Christmas. As I have done in years past I have written a
Christmas story that is appropriate to share with the children at this time
of the year. If you would like a copy of this story just let me know.
1) Import Compliance Manager - 12/7/06 - up to $85K - PA (Philly area)
- this is a national retailer - there are three divisions within the company
however, for import purposes all is handled centralized at headquarters -
the individual will report to a Director Compliance - must have three years
compliance experience and the client gave me two preferences - local
candidates and hopefully the candidates will have their custom broker
license
2) Operations Manager - 12/7/06 - up to $80K (might go a little more)
- GA (Atlanta area) - this is a national 3PL - in this particular facility
(400K sq ft) there is only one client - operation is 24/7 - the Operations
Manager would be responsible for a Senior Manager on each shift - in turn
the Operations Manager reports to a GM responsible for multiple facilities -
need someone with at least five years either managing a department in mega
facility or complete management of a medium sized facility - degree is
required - initially we will not be looking to relocate someone unless we
are not successful
3) Packaging Operations Manager - 12/7/06 - up to $85K - GA - same
company as above - facility is roughly 350,000 sq ft - mostly repacking for
one captive customer - need someone with at least five years managing a
packaging operation (preferably within a distribution environment) - must
have a degree - the client is more responsive to relocating someone for this
position, however, at his request local candidates will be processed first
4) Outbound Transportation Analyst - 12/1/06 - up to $55K - CO - first
assignment in Colorado for several months - national retail company -
individual would handle transportation analysis from distribution center to
retail stores on a national basis - relocation funds available - need
someone with at least two years of analysis experience got a call back from
the department head and HR will not let them use a recruiting firm for this
position
5) Two potential positions in MD - National Transportation Manager and
Distribution Center Manager - got the position from an ex-candidate who is
the senior department head - just waiting on HR (been waiting almost a week)
for confirmation - when I get the assignments (assuming) I will of course
post them here - HR has an ongoing relationship with a recruiting firm and
at this time HR does not want to complicate matters by having another firm
involved - a question to you all - would you rather I not post this 'maybe'
assignments?
6) Transportation Analyst - 11/27/06 - up to $45K - NJ - national
manufacturer of retail soft goods - location is about 20 miles from NYC -
would love to have referrals from individuals with one or two years of
transportation analysis experience - I know this is not much money, but it
was the best they could offer - I have referred them one individual just
looking for feedback - this position and the one below were both filled with
internal candidates

experience in the inventory control analysis experience - would prefer local
candidates - degree required with expert knowledge of computer systems work
- got two individuals, but seeking more information from them - nothing new
to report - filled
9) Business Development Professional - 11/10/06 - up to a base of $55K
plus bonus and car allowance - as most of you know sales and sales
development is not my strength - however, an individual who used to be a
candidate is now with residential storage company - he needs a residential
sales representative in either Princeton, NJ or Bucks County PA - I told him
I post the position to see if there were any referrals - referred them one
candidate - nothing new to report
10) Distribution Supervisor - 11/03/06 up to $65K - OH - regional growing
consumer products retailer running a 24/7 operation needs Distribution
Supervisors - individual needs to be local and at least 3 years of
supervisory experience - have two options considering a recent graduate or a
seasoned veteran who wants to stay in the area - have forwarded them two
candidates that are right on line with both position - it is just now a
matter of waiting - there was initially two openings one in Pa that has been
filled - still waiting on response to the one in Cleveland - nothing new to
report

national consulting firm that specializes in the design and start up of new
distribution facilities - this would include both software installation and
hardware - must have degree - live in the Atlanta area - willing to travel

candidate last week that I am processing - client has opened up to
relocation if the individual is strong in Network Analysis

California(I filled it last week) - national 3PL - home office on the east
coast has growing operation in CA - the hiring manager is not sure exactly
what he needs to hire, he just knows he needs some help - he would like to
consider individuals with at least the last five years in the 3PL industry
one or more facilities - wants to stay local - sent the department head two
excellent candidates - he (the department head) told me he wanted to
interview some when he was in town this week but I have not heard from him -
referred them three candidates - one is going to home office this Friday -
looks good - individual flew to NJ last week for more interviews - looks
like an offer will be extended this week - offer was extended and accepted -
individual starts to work this Wednesday
13) Operations Manager - 10/19/06 up to $100K - NJ - on this particular
position the individual could be based in any of the NE states, as there is
a lot of travel involved - up to 75% - individual would be responsible for
15 + locations in various NE states - potential candidates must have at
least a BS degree and a minimum of five years in a management capacity of
multi facilities - the department head who gave me the assignment said they
were in a hurry to hire - individuals must be presently living in the NE -
they have given me another ten thousand on the salary, but the person must
be living within commuting distance of a location 20 miles west of NYC -
referred the department three good candidates - waiting for response - still
have not heard from department head

Supply Chain environment - specifically implementing WMS, MRP and/or ERP
packages - would prefer local candidates (South California), but will
consider those living in the Southwest - had two good candidates respond
last week - one is going to be interviewed this week - apparently the
interview last week went quite well - appears there will be a second
interview sometime this week - individual met with President last week and
they are now in the process of conducting a reference check - looks good -
offer will more than likely be extended this week

international manufacturer/distribution of health related products - looking
for #2 person in a 300,000 sq ft + facility - local candidates only - client
stated they would be interested in hiring over-qualified individuals who
would love to stay in the are, but they cannot do any flex on the salary -
we are processing five quality candidates for this position - referred them
two last week - two candidates being interviewed this week by two different
management personnel via phone - they have selected one individual of
considerable interest, however they wished to interview some more just to be
sure - I had another candidate that interviewed today - really expect this
to be filled this week - they were ready to hire my candidate and then
decided to interview one or two more - they did and selected one of them -
bummer
16) International Logistics Manager - up to $70K - WI - company is
importing more and more of their finished product - needs individual to

had one good candidate on file, but he elected not to relocate - have no
candidates under consideration - still no candidates so if you know of
anyone please refer - no new candidates, however, I did hear from the client
and he is quite anxious to hire someone - sent him two good candidates last
week - got one excellent candidate who is will be sending his file to the
client tomorrow - there are three good candidates on which I am waiting to
hear what the next step is going to be - not sure I understand this client -

the candidates this week

Mt Gillihan update - tree is decorated - all of my presents are wrapped (if
you could call them wrapped - that is not my skill) - a little depressing to
look out at the landscaping and see what appears to be nothing but dead
twigs - oh well I guess it just makes us look forward to spring
