Business Development Manager
Position summary:
Reporting to the President, Business Development Manager is responsible for
the planning, identifying, prospecting, qualifying and closing of new
business opportunities. The Business Development Manager will work with
executive management prospects in identifying unmet business and technology
needs that can be satisfied by our TSI's products and services.
This position reports directly to the CEO and requires an IT industry
professional who can understand client needs and translate those needs into
revenue generating opportunities for TSI. The candidates for this position
will have experience managing their own sales process from developing and
qualifying leads through closing the deal for TSI technology services.
Demonstrated successful experience in project management, consulting and
solutions sales, training and consulting services and related applications
is required.
Act as an agent for TSI, representing TSI in a management consulting role
with TSI clients. Develop ongoing business with existing and new clients and
promote the growth of TSI's consulting services organization. Develop,
manage and grow profitable business using the TSI business development
model, direction from TSI's CEO and lead the organization responsibly. This
role may include the management, development and delivery of a specific
vertical market or client(s) as well as management of the division or
segment of business including growth targets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
o Develop a sales territory plan. Identify prospects, complete need
assessments, generate and qualify leads, organize proposals and scopes of
work, negotiate pricing and finalize contracts.
o Help transition Client Services (Delivery) Team into customer
environment after contract is signed. Maintain a coaching role during the
transition with the Practice Director assigned to deliver services.
o Assist in the development of sales tools and templates needed to
aid sales efforts (e.g., proposal documents, costing/pricing sheets and
contract templates).
o Routinely track and communicate to executive management sales
prospects, competitive threats, revenue/profit expectations, etc.
o Participate in promotional events where prospective customers
meet--conferences, trade shows, speaker's bureau and community relations
programs.
o Provide input to Marketing on new product features based on market
input and assist Marketing in the development of presentations, white
papers, return on investments documents and other sales literature.
SKILL AND ABILITIES:
o Progressive experience selling long term, large-scale professional
services contracts.
o Direct sales experience in outsourcing and solutions applications
is key.
o Strategic, high energy professional with a results-oriented track
record of sales closings above quota.
o Capable of handling sales prospecting within a multi-state
territory.
o Strong understanding of business-to-business, technology services.
o Comfortable interacting at the highest executive levels (CEO, CFO,
COO, CIO).
o Excellent oral and written skills
