Executive Director

The Center for Respite Care, Inc. is a 14-bed, 24/7 medical recovery
facility for homeless people who are either too sick for a shelter or have
been recently discharged from a hospital and need a safe place to heal.  The
Center for Respite Care opened its doors in October, 2003 and was separately
incorporated on March 17, 2005. The Center for Respite Care is licensed by
the City of Cincinnati as a Residential Care Facility and is currently
housed in a building on the campus of the Garden Park Nursing Home.  Since
2007, The Center for Respite Care has also operated a separate permanent
housing program for homeless people with disabilities.

A Successful Candidate will:
  - Be committed to The Center for Respite Care mission ? "to provide
quality medical care to homeless people who need a safe place to heal while
assisting them in breaking the cycle of homelessness".
  - Be a person with vision, integrity, presence and a passion for serving
the homeless of our community.
  - Ensure that client services are maintained at the highest standard.
  - Build relationships and collaboration with and actively engage all
stakeholders - board, staff, clients, funders, peer agencies, and government
entities.
  - Develop government, grant, donor and other financial relationships that
will ensure resource development and funding sources for long-term financial
sustainability.
  - Model excellent leadership and organizational skills including the
ability to motivate and inspire others, to clearly articulate goals and set
priorities, to communicate effectively and to develop, nurture and manage
staff.
  - Demonstrate competency and sensitivity in working with individuals from
diverse racial, sexual, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  - Ability to create a productive, effective, and impact oriented
organizational culture/environment for both staff and clients.

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall administration and
management of The Center for Respite Care, including operations of the
medical recovery facility and the permanent housing program.  The Executive
Director serves as principal spokesperson and primary fundraiser; provides
guidance to Board of Directors in establishing policies, strategies and
program evaluation; develops and maintains relationships with stakeholders,
other organizations, as well as political and community leaders; directs the
preparation and administration of the annual budget. This is a full-time
position, hired by and directly accountable to the board of directors.

Required Minimum Experience: A candidate must have a minimum of a Bachelor's
Degree (preferably in nursing or social work) and five years of management
experience.  Experience in a non-profit environment, particularly in working
with the homeless and/or in medical care is strongly preferred.  The Center
