Type: Permanent, full time
Salary: Negotiable, based on experience and qualifications

Qualifications: 

Associates or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or completion of 
appropriate coursework from a Technical School; comparable work experience 
accepted.

The following qualifications are considered essential for the successful 
candidate: 
  a.. Knowledgeable with Windows (2000/XP) desktop OS and MS Office products 
installation, operation and support 
  b.. Working knowledge of Veritas BackupExec and tape backup strategies. 
  c.. HTML experience preferred 
  d.. Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  e.. Strong customer relations, communication and problem solving skills 
  f.. Commitment to superior customer service 
  g.. Ability to handle a variety of tasks under quickly changing conditions 
  h.. Ability to work flexible hours outside the normal 8 to 5 from time to 
time and weekends if needed 
  i.. Willingness to take direction from senior team members 
  j.. Requires little supervision 
Working knowledge of Windows server OS's, Active Directory, TCP/IP networking, 
security and authentication and experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft 
Terminal Services and VPN, Microsoft SMS, MOM and WSUS, or certifications (A+, 
MCP, etc.), would be a plus. 


Duties & Responsibilities: 

The Entry Level Network Administrator provides day-to-day IT infrastructure 
management and technical support to MJW's Amherst and Olean offices. This may 
include but is not limited to connectivity, desktop systems software and 
hardware problems as submitted through a Help Desk ticketing system or through 
direct contact.

As an Entry Level Network Administrator, you will: 
  a.. Learn the details of the Company IT hardware and software components 
  b.. Provide technical support to Amherst and Olean staff, primarily by phone, 
but also via the web, e-mail or travel 
  c.. Work to ensure the highest possible level of systems performance and user 
satisfaction 
  d.. Assist with maintenance of user accounts, data integrity and file system 
security 
  e.. Communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical 
personnel 
  f.. Work with little supervision 

Experience: 

Information Technology Specialists must have at least 1 to 3 years experience 
in software support for multiple Windows platforms (2000 and XP), and be 
self-motivated with good analysis and problem solving skills. Previous 
telephone customer support is strongly preferred.
