SUMMARY: Responsible for designing and developing data warehouse solutions, and
to assist in maintaining reliability and quality of delivered systems, which
includes production support and enhancements for current and future data
warehouse requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may
be assigned:
% Of Time
· Assist in the delivery of strategic data warehouse (DW). Execution of
FFS SDLC guidelines, institute best practices, and interface with business
partners, management, and IT staff to implement solutions. Facilitate meetings
with subject matter experts to identify and clarify reporting / ETL
requirements and solutions. 35%
· Assist to maintain reliable and quality of delivered systems, which
includes production support and enhancements for current and future data
warehouse requirements. 15%
· Requires knowledge of data warehouse implementation process from
business requirements through logical modeling, physical database design, data
sourcing and data transformation, data loading, SQL, and SQL performance
tuning. Requires knowledge of Informatica, Erwin and relational database
technology (Oracle). Assistance in forming and supporting the Informatica
strategies, best practices, and standards, manage Informatica production
support, and participate in projects requiring ETL. 25%
· Assistance in forming and supporting our Cognos strategies, best
practices, and standards, including Cognos production support and enhancements
requiring Cognos. Responsibility in documenting analytic requirements
throughout the organization. This will require working with end users to
understand the decision making process. This individual would then take this
understanding of the process and architect analytical cubes and reports. Basic
knowledge of operating environments (Windows NT, 2000, UNIX). 25%

EXPECTED PERFORMANCE OUTCOMES: Performance outcomes with indicators of success.
1. Delivery of Strategic DW Projects using the Business Intelligence tool
set identified above
2. Production Support & Maintenance - Prevent system down time, maintain
current or better online response times, produce timely and accurate system
outputs and reports, resolve issues timely
3. Complete utilization of SDLC on each strategic initiative
CRITIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Education And/Or Experience:
· Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university;
AND two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
· 2-3 years experience in Cognos PowerPlay, Cognos Transformer, Cognos
Impromptu, Informatica, Erwin, Oracle, and SQL
· Insurance Industry experience a plus
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Documented training proof in the following areas: Cognos PowerPlay, Cognos
Transformer, Cognos Impromptu, Informatica, Erwin, and Oracle
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and
maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine
reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of
customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Intermediate Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as
discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area,
circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and
geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
High Skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of
concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,
diagram, or schedule form.
