Position Title: Director of Sales and Marketing, Growing Sound
Employment Status: Full-time:  Salary commensurate with experience. Bonus
incentives available.

BACKGROUND:
This is a new position that will be part of a three person management team
created to oversee the expansion of Growing Sound.  Growing Sound is a
social entrepreneurial venture of Children, Inc., a thirty-three year old
non-profit organization headquartered in Covington, KY.  Growing Sound
develops, field tests and markets musical products based on child
development research to early childhood professionals and parents.
Children, Inc. is the largest private non-profit provider of early education
in the state of Kentucky.  It also is a provider of nationally certified
training materials and programs for early education and mental health
providers.  The vision of Children, Inc. is that all children will be ready
for school and ready for life.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of this position is to successfully develop and grow the
appropriate distribution channels to national and international markets to
meet business objectives.   The Director of Sales and Marketing will manage
all business aspects of Growing Sound.

PERSONAL PROFILE AND QUALIFICATIONS;
The Director of Sales and Marketing needs to be energetic and passionately
committed to the mission of Growing Sound.  He/she needs to have a history
in sales and management.  Previous experience in the entertainment industry
or child development industry is greatly preferred.
Desired  Qualifications:
  - Four year  business degree from an accredited university (Post graduate
degree preferred)
  - Previous experience managing a business venture with a focus on sales
and marketing
  - Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
  - Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a strong sales pipeline
  - International sales experience
  - Excellent negotiation skills
  - Strong desire to succeed

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director of Sales and Marketing will:
  - Communicate frequently and effectively with the Creative Director and
Director of Research and Education to monitor progress toward objectives..
  - Establish a detailed marketing plan that will clearly state goals,
strategies, tactics and benchmarks.
  - Manage the Children, Inc. support staff in day-to-day logistics such as
billing, accounting, inventory and shipping.
  - Analyze operational costs and ensure that the mission is being met in
the most cost-effective and efficient way.
  - Monitor/analyze data and feedback to inform next step decisions such as
new products, sourcing of material and capitalization requirements.
