We are working with a client whose core competence is in high end
CNC machining directed to clientele in the Orthopedic segment of the
Medical Device space. They have asked us to embark upon a
Confidential Search for the top position in their Quality Assurance
organization. (If you are unfamiliar with the term Confidential
Search, what it means to you is that we will not be able to discuss
the client's name until much later in the process than would be
normal.)

The role will be titled Director or Vice President, QA/RA (depending
upon experience) but the strong focus of the position will be to
the 'Q' portion. This is a very successful, medium sized Contract
Manufacturing organization that is highly regarded. They are ISO
13485 certified and their system is fairly sound. Characteristics
you would need to have to be qualified for this role are:

Education:
Minimum of a BS in an Engineering Discipline with a Master's
being "icing on the cake"

Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years at the management level in Quality with
demonstrable leadership skills
- More Experience: Additional 5 years or more at various levels of
QA in a Medical Device environment
- Knowledgeable in the implementation, maintenance and auditing
processes required by both ISO and FDA (site is FDA registered)
- Strong communications skills both verbal and written, up and down
the organizational chart
- Lean and Six Sigma certifications a strong plus but the
initiatives are still in the first year of implementation
- Experience in Departmental Budgeting, adherence to budget, and
appropriate staffing is needed
- Ability to identify weaknesses in the CAPA system and rationalize
their solutions
- Corporate growth will include acquisition so experience in both
due diligence and integration will be a plus
- Hands-on style with an innate desire to be involved at the floor
level
