POSITION TITLE:   Senior Lab Technician

TARGET WAGES: $26,288-$35,000 Non-Exempt               BUSINESS HOURS:
8:30am-4:30pm



RESPONSIBILITIES:  Laboratory testing and results interpretation for
commercial and developmental materials, provides other support to
developmental activities of Research Associates including sample and data
sheet preparation; limited customer interaction.

  a.. Performs laboratory testing of samples received from supervisors.
  b.. Prepares samples for testing.
  c.. Prepares and distributes summaries of physical testing results with
interpretations.
  d.. Initiate additional testing as suggested by interpretation of results
of other tests.
  e.. Stores, catalogs and retrieves samples as required.
  f.. Coordinates testing requirements of Research Associates.
  g.. Monitors and verifies performance of testing equipment.
  h.. Coordinates distribution of samples and data sheets to customers.
  i.. Assists Research Associates with various tasks around Tech Center.
·         Employee shall contribute in the research and development of new
products and the improvement of existing products, as part of Employee's
regular scope of duties. Product research and development typically takes
place in a team context, and often includes multiple employees from multiple
Clopay facilities working on a given research and development project.
Employee shall cooperate with the Company and its affiliates in the
documentation, protection, and commercialization of such research and
developments to the extent requested by the Company including patent
applications.



REQUIREMENTS:

·         Education:  High School degree/GED required; Two year technical
degree preferred.

·         Experience: Two years required, five years experience preferred in
laboratory testing of plastic films and laminates.

·         Demonstrated ability to carry out instructions provided in a
variety of formats, and draw conclusions from laboratory data.

·         Demonstrated ability to read and interpret requests for testing,
safety rules, operation, maintenance or test procedures, material safety
data sheets.   Ability to read and interpret requests for testing, safety

·         Demonstrated ability to perform basic algebra, determine
percentages, calculate surface areas.

·         Demonstrated experience with computers interfaced with laboratory
testing equipment and various types of physical testing equipment.
Experience with MS Office applications (Excel, Word), is desirable.

·         Frequently operates physical testing equipment which requires fine
manual manipulation to prepare and install the test samples and test
fixtures.  Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision.
The employee is regularly required to stand and/or sit while operating the
various pieces of physical test equipment.

·         Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves objects weighing up
to 15 lbs.  Frequently operates physical testing equipment which requires
fine manual manipulation to prepare and install the test samples and test
fixtures.
