POSITION TITLE:         Extrusion Team Leader

LOCATION:                  Plastic Products Company, Research & Development,
Mason, OH

TARGET WAGES:         $34,990-$48,000 per year
NON-EXEMPT

HOURS:                        Vary and include 2nd Shift



RESPONSIBILITIES:

Overall, supervises and coordinates the product development activities of
the Cast Extrusion Line (CEL) at the Mason Technical Center.

1.       Supervises the activities of the Cast Extrusion Line (CEL)
technicians.

2.       Plans the activities for CEL with input from the various
development project owners.

3.       Documents and details all development activities carried out on the
CEL, including potential patent-related work.

4.       Assists the Pilot Plant Supervisor with planning the schedule for
the CEL.

5.       Assists CEL technicians in job performance, giving feedback and
mentoring staff.

6.       Provide input and direction to Research Associates on the process
issues related to product development & trials.

7.       Maintain the CEL equipment, including housekeeping and safety, and
suggest upgrades to the equipment as appropriate.

8.       Oversee inventories, finished products and shipping of items
related to the CEL; assist in other developmental processes and areas, as
needed.

9.       Assist with rolling out new products at the production facilities.



REQUIREMENTS:

·          High School diploma/GED required.  Preferred: four year
engineering or technical degree with emphasis on polymer science or
processing.

·          Minimum ten years experience in film processing to include
process troubleshooting, line operation, process improvement, SPC, etc. Must
have been involved in all aspects of film production.

·          Demonstrated ability to monitor a process, document that process,
and provide effective feedback and mentoring of technicians.

·          Demonstrated ability to conduct project work with minimal
supervision and input.

·          Ability to read and interpret documents such as project plans,
safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and project plans.  Must
be able to document and communicate clearly ideas and concepts, even to
patent application standards.

·          Demonstrated effective communication skills: internal and
external contacts include other R&D professionals, Managers, direct reports,
customer development personnel, equipment vendors and outside experts in
polymer processing.

·          Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the
employee frequently is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms,
climb or balance and stoop or kneel.  The employee is occasionally required
to lift or move up to 50 pounds.  While performing the duties of this job,
the employee will be exposed to high temperature materials and the work
environment may include extreme heat. The employee may be exposed to moving
mechanical parts, electrical shock and elevated places. The noise level is
usually moderate and may require hearing protection. Eye protection will be
required in certain aspects of the job.
