I am assisting to recruit a Manager, Cheminformatics and Support for a
client's European application science group. 
The successful candidate will have the following characteristics:
        ·       At least three years of management experience 
        ·       Computational chemistry or cheminformatics background (Ph.D.
preferred) 
        ·       Scientific software support experience 
        ·       Ability to get things done quickly, successfully, and with
the big picture in mind 
        ·       Capable of taking on many different responsibilities with
equal proficiency 
        ·       Troubleshooting skills 
        ·       Willing to travel extensively 
The manager of customer support will be responsible for the following:
        ·       Manage a group of application support scientists, reporting
to the director of support 
        ·       Supervise and take part in the handling of incoming customer
support requests 
        ·       Manage internal and external software development projects 
        ·       Coordination and scheduling of customer visits and training
for the group 
        ·       Liaise with the European sales team 
        ·       Pro-actively interact with customers to ensure their success
with our products 
Although this company is headquartered in San Diego, this position is based
in Western Europe, preferably in Germany or the UK.
