Description:
VMware's VIP network provides sales partners with
varying levels of VMware marketing and sales support,
depending on their level of commitment and interest.
The successful candidate will:
·Understand the business: who are the most productive
and successful resellers? Who are likely to be? What
makes (would make) our program attractive / useful to
them? It is essential that this role provide
definition and analysis of which resellers are being
most productive and should "move up" in the program,
or not be renewed into it if their productivity is too
low.
·Produce the program: define the benefits and
requirements of each level to match the business
needs, in conjunction with the marketing and sales
team define / create / roll out collateral,
infrastructure, training (internal), events and
marketing programs
·Manage the Program / Business: set the goals of the
VIP program (what are they, how measured), work and
plan appropriately with sales team to "enforce"
program restrictions with participants, bring in
new partners, and create / measure success. This
portion of the position includes ownership of
administration (application processing, renewal
processing, lead-sharing) ? doing, overseeing the
automation thereof, or outsourcing as appropriate.
·Work with other teams (Marketing, International, and
Sales) to support the channel: defining program needs
for launches & other events, suggesting marketing
tools, managing and allocating budget to promote
channel education and sales. Since EMEA region
recruits resellers exclusively through distributors
(eg, no direct recruitment, all "arm's-length", CPM
must be comfortable working through this type of
secondary control system.
·Represent VMware correctly to channel partners and
sales, remaining cool under pressure, and requiring
limited direction.
The CPM will report to the Director of Field, Channel,
and Solutions Marketing in VMware headquarters.
