Is the policy against posting volunteer opportunities a new one? As an old JSFG member I have seen many (and I do mean MANY) posts about volunteer opportunities for JSFG members, and have NEVER seen any sort of rebuke in response. The thought was always that volunteer activities keep job searchers productive while they're looking, and also provide a talking point for interviews, resumes, etc. If it's no longer acceptable to post such volunteer opportunities, I think the powers-that-be need to enforce the policy consistently.
