The associate producer is responsible for assisting in gathering,
writing and editing content for multiple platforms.
 
Duties include:
*       Work closely with executive producers and producers to determine
content needs.
*       Assist in the development of content for multiple platforms in
AP and broadcast
      style.
*       Execute time sensitive decisions.
*       Write clearly for multiple platforms.
*       Edit video for multiple platforms.
*       Knowledge and demonstration of creativity, editorial judgment,
journalistic ethics and libel laws.
*       Post content to station's websites.
*       Perform additional duties as assigned.
 
Requirements:
*       BS/BA in related discipline. 
*       Generally 0-2 years of experience in related field.
*       Possess strong verbal and written communication skills,
including grammar, storytelling abilities and news judgment.
*       Proficient in computer based editing, Final Cut Pro.
*       Detail-oriented and ability to handle various tasks
simultaneously. 
*       Ability to work efficiently and effectively under deadlines.
*       Entry level professional contributor on a project or specialty
work team.
*       Work is similar to that performed by senior-level employees in
support/paraprofessional roles without degrees/certification to gain
practical exposure to application of theories/principles of specialized
area.
*       Work is of limited scope, typically on smaller, less complex
projects/assignments or providing support for larger
projects/assignments.
*       Perform basic tasks and functions for professional field of
work.
*       Work in compliance with established procedures and/or protocols.
Identify and resolve readily identifiable, clearly-defined problems.
*       Nature of work requires general supervision; exercise judgment.
May be paired with a mentor.
*       Work typically involves regular process checks or review of
output by a coworker and/or supervisor.
*       May provide general guidance to or train junior level support
personnel.
*       Good grasp of professional principles and skills. Knows and
effectively uses fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of
particular area of specialization.
