Associate Director of Clinical Operations - Utah or NJ

A client of ours is seeking an Associate Director of Clinical Operations for
either their Parsippany, NJ or Utah branch.
The ADCO is responsible for the delivery of quality clinical data in support
of a marketing application for an assigned investigational drug ADCO and
assisting the DCO in the tactical and strategic management of the Clinical
Operations department.




Position Criteria:

Creates and reviews the standards for conduct of clinical research to ensure
consistency and reproducibility in data across all clinical studies for a
given investigational drug
Assists the DCO in directing and managing all clinical operations
Supervises and mentors the activities of CRMs
Reviews resource needs and plans for the growth of the department
Develops and maintains SOPs
Coordinates the training and compliance monitoring for SOPs
Identifies areas for growth and development of the department
Creates and conducts training programs for the professional development of
the department?s staff
Assists the DCO in hiring, staffing and human resource matters
Develops outsourcing strategies and creates and maintain the clinical
development plan for assigned product
Maintains currency with industry developments
Attends scientific meetings and conferences to maintain therapeutic area

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor?s degree, preferably in the life sciences or RN degree and at least
ten years relevant work experience at a CRO or pharmaceutical/biotechnology
company including study management and personnel management responsibilities
Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize with minimal
supervision
In depth understanding of drug development and clinical research
Competence with office software programs (word processing, spreadsheets,
presentations)
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong problem solving and analytical capabilities
Ability to provide direction and guidance to others
Willingness to travel (up to 25%)
