Many JSFG Members have been exploring the New JSFG Members Profiles web
site.
Thanks for your questions.

Here are some answers to Frequently asked Questions and hopefully they will
help more of you to Post your New Profile.



*How do I get to the new Website?*

Go direct to the website by clicking on:

*I've already posted a Profile on the JSFG.com website ? Do I need to
register? *
Yes, JSFG Members must "register" on the new website to post a "new format
Profile"
We have not loaded all of the current members, you must do it yourself.



When you register ? You must click on the link in the response email the
JSFG Forum sends you.  This helps us to make sure you have a valid email
address for employer contacts.



*When I Registered I filled out my Bio ? Is this my Profile?*

The Bio that is part of your Contact Information is a thumbnail Bio about
You.

It is not your Professional Profile ? The Profile is your Advertisement to
Employers

Go to Profiles - JSFG Members

complete your Profile.



*How do we make sure that members are paid up?*  We will review the
postings, verify their paid status, and if they are not paid, hold their
children or pets for ransom.  Yes, we know this will be attractive to some
parents of teenagers, but we hope they will see the light and pay up.   $25
for the first 3 months, and $10 per quarter thereafter seems to be a real
bargain.  PLEASE NOTE ? There is more to JSFG than posting your Profile.  Come
Monday mornings, meet people, Network with them and Learn every day.

 *Can I change my UserID? * Yes ? If Emperor Spongebob is not professional
enough for you - Email your Change UserID request to "Contact Us" button at
the bottom of the Forum web page or email dave.velzy@xxxxxxxxx - Tell me
your old UserID and what you want the New one to be.

JSFG Encourages the use of first and last name as user ID.  You may include
spaces.

*Will the old Profiles ever be published again? *
I don't know if we will ever publish a fresh crop of the old style profiles
hosted on JSFG.com.
JSFG is in a transition from one set of Web capabilities to another.  Load
your new Profile before the Nov 17th Job Fair so Employers can find you.

*How to Post your New Profile ? *

*Profile Posting is a Benefit of Paid JSFG Members -
*First time members pay $25 / Quarter (three months)
Continuing membership is $10 / Quarter
*Anyone may REGISTER to post on the Website, but only Paid Members Profiles
will remain Posted.**

Be Professional - Your Profile will be Posted to the World Wide Web*
Be Public with your Contact Information
Note - Employers who want to contact you want to contact you FAST.
Make it easy for them to reach you directly by phone or email found in your
post.

*Be Professional - Make sure you spell check and proof read. *
TIP: Write your Profile in a word processor, check spelling and grammar then
copy and paste. Then double check for errors.
JSFG will not edit or correct your Profile.

*To Create your Profile*
Click the Blue *NEW THREAD *button on the left of the page
tight underneath the top Bands

*Select a Prefix* to designate the Professional Category where you want to
post your Profile choose from: Accounting / Finance, Consulting, Engineering
/ Technical, General Management, Healthcare, Human Resources, Information
Systems, Legal, Manufacturing Operations, Marketing / Public Relations,
Professional, and Sales

*Write a Catchy Title
*
Write or Paste a Catchy Mini-Resume into the Post ( limit 2000 words )
You may additionally attach a word (.doc) or .pdf format resume.

*Remember this is an advertisement for you NOT your life story.*

Provide Contact Information if you want to be reached
Remember your User ID Information contains contact Info
Provide a link to your LinkedIn Profile.



Click on the *SUBMIT NEW THREAD* button at the bottom of the edit window to
Post your Profile.

You may Post as Many Profiles as you wish.
You may also edit, revise or delete your profile at any time.

*Chose Go Advanced when you EDIT to get all of the capabilities.  *

Your Profile will remain posted until you remove it or you are no longer a
dues paying JSFG member. JSFG Profiles Administration reserves the right to
remove Profiles if deemed inappropriate.




*Why is JSFG Changing PROFILES?*

Here is a comparison of Old and New capabilities.

0) Old website at JSFG.com <http://jsfg.com/profiles.htm> had Profiles -
state of the art at one time but are now dated.
0) New profiles at
JobSearchFocusGroup.net/forums<http://jobsearchfocusgroup.net/forums>have
many more features ? Click on Profiles section

1) Old - 500 Characters long
1) New - 10,000 characters (2000 words) + attachments of word.doc or
adobe.pdf type + Contact Information - like LinkedIn, phone number and email
links.  Need more space?  We can add more. But be aware this is an ad, not
your life history.

2) Old - You enter info to JSFG.com anytime, but profiles are batch posted
to the web once a month - somewhat sporadic timing as this is an all
volunteer organization.
2) New - You may enter info anytime and post or revise 24/7/365 - Your
choice - no delay.

3) Old - Employers could not contact members easily...Employer had to call
or email office, Office called and emailed member who then called or emailed
employer.  At it's best this took hours, if it worked at all. This is a
major employer complaint.
3) New - Members MAY post their Contact info and Employers contact directly.
THIS IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED - Make it easy to be contacted. If you choose
an anonymous user ID and chose a private email contact - Employers will be
able to blind email to you and you may then respond.

4) Old - Profiles were not subject to any format or style changes
4) New - Profile Posts can be crafted to show individual style

5) Old - Employers were emailed Profiles as .pdf attachments once a month.
5) New - Employers will receive Monthly news letters from JSFG reminding
them to check our website. We can also advertise on social networking sites
like LinkedIn Cincinnati and NKY.

6) Old - Member data was collected at orientation, but often was illegible
and takes work to maintain.
6) New - Members regster themselves and maintain their own data.
6+) New - Now we have capability to collect employer information as they
search for Member info and post jobs on a new feature of our website.  This
feature will be launched after we get a bunch of Member Profiles built up.
We need Member Profiles to SELL employers on signing up and using JSFG.
