Materials Handler
Andrews Electronics Materials Handler role is a key player on the
distribution center
team. Read on for the responsibilities and requirements of this role.
Position Summary: As a part of Andrews Electronics Eastern Distribution
team, the
role of Materials Handler is responsible for stocking inventory and
preparing
inventory for shipment according to established processes and
procedures. This
global role description includes specific responsibilities in the areas
of
Pick/Pack/Stock, Returns Clerk and Manifester.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
. Prepares UPS shipments by stacking and shrink wrapping inventory on
pallets
. Responsible for packaging parts, utilizing tape machine or tape gun
. Prepares boxes for shipment using barcode scanner to print shipping
labels and
labeling boxes with packing slips
. Responsible for moving boxes within warehouse utilizing pallet jack
. Moves larger boxes of inventory utilizing hand cart
. Labels parts with picking labels
. Stocks inventory on shelves according to pre-assigned location
. Analyzes and processes parts for OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)
return
. Responsible for conducting work according to company procedure or
process
definitions
. Actively participates in satisfaction of team goals established to
strive toward
distribution best practices
. Participates in safety training, applies safety standards and
procedures in all
areas of work at all times
Qualifications:
. High School diploma or equivalent preferred
. Previous warehouse/materials handling experience a definite plus
. Knowledge of basic computer skills
. Previous experience using a hand held computer device a plus
. Prior UPS Worldship experience a plus
. Must be able to use basic warehouse tools, such as pallet jack, hand
truck
and utility knife
. Must demonstrate the ability to work independently; communicate daily
issues with immediate supervisor
. Must be able to take direction, read and write in English

. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted, on occasion; 25 lbs
regularly; and 15
lbs on a consistent basis
. Ability to stand, kneel squat and climb ladders on a consistent basis
. Ability to work on a concrete floor for duration of assigned shift
. Stand and walk for entire shifts
