Job Description: Advanced Programmer Analyst

The Advanced Programmer Analyst for Business Intelligent Solutions at
Hill-Rom Industries is responsible for insuring a quality and reliable data
warehouse production environment, and for designing and developing data
warehouse solutions for Hill-Rom's business problems. Candidate must have
solid technical skills, have the ability to understand business details and
be a leader.  

Key Responsibilities: 

.       Works with key business partners to understand business needs and
implement technical solutions.
.       Plans and implements strategic and tactical business intelligence
initiatives 
.       Develops best business practices   
.       Responsible for integrating quality data into the warehouse.
.       Responsible for data modeling, developing data catalog, meta data
and data dictionary 
.       Responsible for data extracts, transformation, loading, and data
cleansing for the data warehouse. 
.       Responsible for accurate data presentation to the user. 
.       Develops auditing processes to insure data accuracy and consistence
.       Insures Service Level Agreements for data quality and availability
are met
.       Responsible to deliver value to the customer

Qualifications: 

.       Strong knowledge of Data Warehouse concepts, technologies, and best
business practices
.       High knowledge of ETL tools
.       Must be proficient with Informatica
.       Must be proficient with Cognos' Powerplay, ReportNet and Decision
Stream.
.       High working knowledge of relational database management systems and
data warehousing. This includes logical modeling, physical database design,
data sourcing and data transformation, data loading, data cleansing, and
end-user tools
.       Working knowledge of Oracle/SQL 
.       JD Edwards experience a plus
.       ERWin experience a plus
.       Must possess working knowledge of Microsoft Project, PowerPoint,
Word and Excel
.       Must be a visionary and leader.
.       Ability to quickly analyze problems and determine solutions
.       Strong desire to learn on the job with minimal guidance
.       Must have strong oral and written communication skills
.       Must be able to communicate with developers, managers, functional
users, and executives
.       Must be self-motivated and have a strong drive to learn and excel
.       Strong working knowledge of the end-to-end software development
process
.       Ability to accurately estimate work efforts, develop project plans
and deliver on goals
Education and Experience: 
.       BS in Computer Science; or equivalent combination of education and
experience
.       Minimum 5 Years of experience in implementing and/or supporting
business intelligence applications
.       Minimum 5 Years of experience leading complex projects
