The Plant ELS Manager will report to the Plant Manager with a dotted
line to the Divisional Continuous Improvement Champion for the Graphics
& Reflective Products Division. This person will be instrumental in
implementing continuous improvement initiatives within the plant. The
individual selected may supervise exempt and / or non-exempt staff,
depending on the size of the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
.Work with the site leadership team to prepare and monitor the ELS site
deployment plan.
.Facilitate and support Kaizen events.
.Develop employees' skills and competencies in Lean concepts including
Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Visual Controls, Flow, Kaizen Events, Kanban,
Problem Solving, etc.
.Apply ELS self assessments in the site and participate in ELS peer
assessments at other locations.
.Analyze the Supply Chain and help identify projects or process changes
that will eliminate non-value added activities within manufacturing and
information flows. Create or improve processes that add value to our
customers in line with the business strategy (OGSM).
.Support internal training, education and communication needs within the
organization. 
.Mentor others on Lean/Sigma tools and principles. 
.Identify and remove organizational barriers to continuous improvement
process. 
.Drive site's layout and flow process improvement efforts. 
.Drive efforts to apply best practices identified across the
corporation.
 
Must have Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering. 
.Five (5) years experience with continuous improvement programs
preferred.
.Strong negotiating / interpersonal skills.
.High energy and self motivation with a passion for excellence and
continuous improvement coupled with a strong bias for action. 
.Demonstrated strength in coaching and team building.
.Ability to interpret and overcome change barriers.
.Strong ability to facilitate various continuous improvement training
programs and 
Initiatives.
.Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple projects simultaneously
.Track record of being a change agent.
.Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to
communicate with the entire employee population.
.Proven leadership skills (lead, motivate, process, and people
management skills).
.Strong quantitative and analytical capability.
.Effective interpersonal skills in dealing with people at various levels
and in a variety of 
functions within the organization.
.Solid understanding of business issues, metrics, and customer value.
.Must possess excellent project and time management skills. 
.Must be willing and able to travel 10-20% 
.Lean or Black Belt Certification desired.
