bit of a waistline bulge. :-)

Of course the study was done in Europe and may not
apply here in the U.S.A.  But maybe it will provide
some motivation for us to loose weight.

Fat People Earn Less
HEALTH NEWS BYTE, Wednesday, February 14, 2007

The more your waistline bulges, the lighter your
wallet may get. According to a new European study, a
heavier-than-normal body mass index (BMI) can
significantly impact a person's earning power.
Researchers surveyed adults in nine countries,
estimating that every 10% increase in a person's BMI
can reduce their annual earnings by up to 3.3%,
independent of other factors. Full findings from the
study were published in a recent issue of the journal
Economics and Human Biology.

What This Means for You
Interestingly, researchers found that the negative
impact of weight on earning power was somewhat less
strong among women than men.
