All,
I encourage everyone to keep forwarding job postings, networking event
info, and job fair announcements to this mailing list. That said, please
be aware that virtually everything that is not plain text will be
removed before the message is distributed. This is done to protect us
all from malicious software that is often hidden in e-mail messages.
Pictures are deleted. Word documents and PDF files seldom survive the
trip. Web pages, HTML e-mails, and other formatted messages - e.g.,
those with bold or italic type, buttons to click, etc. - are often
translated into gibberish. It is best to not forward such things to the
ListServ. Use a workaround instead.
Here is one trick that usually works.
First, highlight the text you wish to share and copy it to the
clipboard. You can do this with most documents and web pages.
Then, create a new e-mail message. On the main menu, click on "Edit" and
select "Paste Without Formatting". If you can read the result, chances
are good that the rest of us will be able to. If not, a few deletions
may be enough to clean it up (note: web pages may need a LOT of clean up).
Finally, add your comments at the top and send it to
jsfg_cinti@xxxxxxxxxxxxx .
I hope this helps. If you have your own tips or suggestions, please feel
free to share.
Thanks!
David Barnes
