writing a CD using send function

A person sent me this message yesterday as an alternative for writing a CD:
"Just highlight the folder and initiate a right click option to select Send to 
CD "

In his next message he said just highlight the folder I want to copy and right 
click.  Can anyone tell me how to use this function to create a CD?  Judith
