I can send and receive  some people but not others and I can not have a
voice chat with any one though Steve what could be the problem then

Matthew,

You have some other reason why you can't send or receive files.  That
probably
is related to specific rules in your firewall, probably because Windows
Messenger uses some different ports.

I can send and receive files, conduct voice chats, etc. with Windows
Messenger
with other people using either MSN or Windows Messenger.

Hi I don't really see anythinng rong with windows messanger.  The only
problem is that If you use windows messanger, then you can not send or
recdeive files from other users,  But if you use  msn you do not have
any
problems.
