It's not difficult.
I'm running Windows Mail on my 7 Ultimate box just fine.
I finished translating the JFW Windows mail scripts to Hebrew as well, and It
works great.

My 2 cents here are, try then another program like windows life mail or
thunderbird. They are free and work very well with jaws. If you have the money
to spare, or are you planning an upgrade, then get outlook. But seriusly, this
windows mail thing is just to complicated. It requires to much work and time.
Time that you could be trying to learn a new e-mail program. Seriusly, this
ain't rocket science. Try something new. This a huge problem I find on the
blindness community in general. They want everything the way they first worked
with, or learn the thing. Guys, there is progress involved in everything and
things must change, for the good or the worse. Theyare other options outthere,
and some of them are even better. Just take the time to check them out. You may
be surprise to learn you like the new instead of the old.

I'm still not clear about what is meant by "check boxes don't work." Is it
that the screen readers can't see them, or is it that their checked or
unchecked state can't be changed?
If I won't be able to create message rules in Windows Mail on my 64-bit
Windows 7 system, that would be a show-stopper for me since I depend on these
rules to filter email from several lists into appropriate folders.

when one sets up windows mail;
the check boxes when creating message rules don't work.
otherwards, it's almost impossible to create message filters.

boxes in Windows Mail, do you mean that the screen readers can't detect them at
all, or is it that their state can't be changed? In the past, I've seen with
Outlook Express that sometimes JAWS didn't automatically read the state of the
check box in the Message Rules dialog, but the state could be determined with
the JAWS cursor and then changed with the Spacebar.

go to my grab bag website and there is a link for the windows mail in
win 7 there, a note I recently found out, if you set this up on a 64 bit
machine setting mail rules in windows mail is nearly impossible to do, the
check boxes are refusing to work for most of the screen readers in this set up!

and one fault in windows mail I just found out about today!
using it on a 64 bit system gives problems with making filters in
it. the check boxes are almost entirely inaccessible unfortunately.
