have u installed a new sound card if not try going to control panel and then to sounds,from there go to the tab called speakers and microphones and make sure its not set to mute or that no other soundcard is choosen except the top one in the list then choose the top one and set as default and this might fix it,i did this on a acer laptop last week and it worked for him

Has anyone downloaded service pack one for vista if so how did you get your speech back after restarting the computer? I have no speech and going to the volume control did not help.
