Chris, the automatic updates will tell you what will be installed if you = have it set up to do so. I have mine set to download and then to tell me = what it wants to install. I can then uncheck whatever I don't want.=20 I'm running a Dell and haven't encountered the dreaded video intercept. -----Original Message----- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Sunday, June 12, 2005 11:06 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: video intercept error This is probably a futile question, but can I leave automatic updates enabled and still head off this Dell video driver that is giving JAWS = fits? Probably not, eh? Chris Feist - The one and only! -----Original Message----- On Behalf Of Francis Daniels I've turned off Automatic Updates but I still go to Microsoft and see = what they want me to update. If it looks suspicious, I see what it is they Microsoft is recommending. I can check out the security bulletins. The best way is to set a restore point before I install something that will affect the video, for example.
