Hi, if the archives are available, search for a post I did on how to configure Avast to work nicely with JAWS. Hope that helps, and no, I'm not trying to be lazy.

Subject: using avast user interface with jaws

Hello, list:
I have installed the Avast antivirus program version 4.8. The user interface states icons for scanning etc. are designated as lines, circles, etc. How do I access these icons with Jaws which I now cannot distinguish for scanning? Second, if Jaws won't work with these icons, can someone recommend another free antivirus program? I'd use AVG 7.5, but have discovered their 8.0 version is presently screen reader inaccessible. Thanks for your thoughts. Louise Peyton
