Are you certain that the speakers are turned on, plugged into power and at 
an acceptable volume?  did you try a headset?

Well I got the new computer turnedd on and I don't hear anything. there are
three or four places in the sound card where to plug the speakers and i bet
I had it in the wrong one. I tried putting the jaws audio training cd in the
drive cause I thought it would play and tried plugging the speakers into all
the different sockets and still nothing. I tried hitting start and u and
then s for shut down and it won't shut donw. what should I do I am now going
to go to the loonie bin.
