Hi Betsy, A lot of us understood that, but people, Alex among them, were finding it impossible to do this as they've always done. Remove the hotkey assignment from the old version and use it for the new one. It's all you have to do, ever. But that hasn't been possible until Rick suggested bypassing Jaws to do the work. I would love to hear how this came to be so. I'd like to understand it. Meantime, what a maddening trip it's been, watching everyone go around and around. Rick, good going! were unthat, uys ----- Original Message ----- From: "Betsey Doane" <k1eic@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, November 25, 2006 3:50 PM Subject: RE: strange problem with jaws 8 and ctrl+alt+j hotkey I believe Rick is correct--it's a shortcut problem. You have to delete the old shortcut before you can reassign that alt-control-combo.--Betsey Doane _____ From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Rick Harmon Sent: Friday, November 24, 2006 5:54 PM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: strange problem with jaws 8 and ctrl+alt+j hotkey I disagree, JAWS has absolutely nothing to do with properties on a desktop icon. That is either a MS issue or someone hasn't cleared the contro+Alt+j shortcut from another icon on the desktop. We can't blame every single issue to JAWS.
