The desktop is loaded then after about 1 minute or more, Jaws will speak.

  If you mean that it takes a couple minutes before we get the logon prompt, 
that is normal. I have a 2.4 G laptop and I know that the prompt for the 
network password is on the screen 30 to 40 seconds before JAWS starts speaking. 
Don't know of any way to speed it up.

    is there a program I could use to change the order in wich programs load at 
startup?
