Re: spanish characters & Insert + 4 in Word

Hi folks.

Although one can coax MS Word to produce any number of exotic symbols, most
of the recent postings on this subject seem to have been concerned with
foreign accented characters. Back when the dos operating system was all we
had, I remember having to generate many of my foreign language characters in
WordPerfect 5.1 in just the manner Anna describes. But with Windows and the
immediate availability of a variety of keyboard mappings, I can't help but
wonder why people don't take the easy way and simply add Spanish, French,
Italian or whatever language one wishes to the default, U.S. English in most
cases. Once added, one need only toggle through however many keyboards have
been added with the alt+shift sequence. In this way, correct punctuation
marks as well as often one-stroke entries at the keyboard will produce all
the special symbols one needs.

Regards to everyone,

Jerry
