Oh cool thanks! To bad I can't make separate language settings for each page... I'd like it if I was able to open up a page and hit a command to switch languages and speeds. I use Italian a lot, but I can't understand it at the same speed as my English. So it would need to maybe be a new profile or something, not sure. For example I have jaws to not detect language changes on facebook. That way I can switch languages manually and don't have to depend on jaws whether I read a comment on spanish or english. Brandon, Combining the shift key with several navigation keys enables you to select larger blocks of text. John Martyn mentioned the shift and down arrow to select a line. Just make sure focus is at the beginning of the line you want to copy. You can also select a line with shift plus up arrow. Here, place focus at the beginning of the next line. Shift plus pageup or pagedown selects a larger block of text, although the result on a webpage is random. What I often do is press shift+pagedown, then continue with the shift+down arrow until an entire article (for example) is selected. Shift plus control plus end key selects from the point of focus to the bottom of the webpage. Substituting the home key for the end key selects from focus to the top of the webpage. Of course, control-a (without the shift key) selects the entire webpage. I believe the shakiness you describe indicates a page that is constantly refreshing. somewhere in the "adjust JAWS options" dialog or the JAWS 12 equivalent, there is a fix that you might want to apply to specific pages. I don't have the time just now to look for it, and anyway, I'm using JAWS 11 and you're probably using JAWS 12. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Brandon Keith Sent: Tuesday, January 11, 2011 1:52 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: selecting on a web-page? Hello, two things: first, is there a way to select fast on a web page, more than just by word? it takes a really long time to copy articles or stories I want to keep... Second, Does anyone know if there's a way to stop the shaking of WebPages when I'm selecting them? Having something shake super fast like that makes me sick, so I'd rather not have to tern off my screen each time I'm selecting on a web-page... Here's A page with both problems. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE7096FE20110111 I'm using Jaws 11 with Windows Vista.
