What I do is hold the control key down while arrowing up and down the list
of files, and when there is one I wish to select I tap the space bar. That
selects the file and to make sure you've selected the files you want hit
shift control plus down arrow.

Subject: selecting items in a list

Today, I stuck a bunch of files in the wrong place and needed to clean them
out. I couldn't select the whole list of files in the list and delete it
because there were good ones scattered throughout the list. I thought
someone told me that you could go up and down the list with shift control
down arrow and when you wanted to pass an item by, you could let up on the
control key and go to the next item to select. Mouse users can do it how can
we. I also tried using the space bar to select or unselect an item and no
worky.
