OK.
Now, I'm stumped. I have the same problem. Even though I've pasted the contents of the clipboard, the next time I use control plus C, I get the same dialogue box. It would be nice if JAWS had two kinds of paste commands: one that emptied the paste buffer and one that does not (in other words, works the way JAWS works now). I think the Freedom Scientific people must have thought that one might want to paste the contents of the buffer over and over again, and that is conceivable, but not likely, particularly when it is a buffer with accumulated segments using the Windows plus C or Windows plus X commands. I think one could use the basic control plus v command to paste the buffer, but otherwise leave it in tact. One might assign Windows plus V to paste and simultaneously empty the buffer. I think that is a new feature that ought to be presented to Freedom Scientific. I think I'll just make such a suggestion, though you ought to get naming rights. <SMILE>

Ed,

This is really good and to be honest I didn't even know there was a
way to put more than one item in the clipboard. The only not so ideal
aspect of it is that the items come off the clipboard with line
breaks after each one, so it's not the smoothest way to for example
copy from one place to another the first three sentences of a five
sentence paragraph, as I'd have to do a little clean-up work
eliminating the line breaks after pasting out of the clipboard.

Also, can you teach me how to toggle off the windows key + c? After I
tried your method once I now am getting a dialog box titled overwrite
clipboard every time I try to copy anything with ctrl + c, even after
I pasted the test sentences. The box says Pressing ctrl + c will
overwrite the clipboard. Do you want to do this, yes/no." I tried
going into the clipboard alt h + f o and clearing the clipboard but
I'm still getting the pop-up.

Many thanks,
Michael

You are right. You don't have to press F-8 quickly. I just do that
to avoid the chatter of hearing word, sentence, and so-on. Now to
accomplish your objective of sequentially selecting sentences, you
are right. The next press of F-8 will select the entire paragraph.
You could, however, do this -- if it suits your purpose:
1. Select your sentence in the manner described previously (3 taps of F-8);
2.  Copy to the clipboard using control plus C;
3. Repeat the above for the next sentence; and
4. Press Windows plus C.
The depression of control plus c and the pressing of windows plus C
will each turn off the selection. You can sequentially "add"
sentences to the clipboard by using Windows plus C instead of
Control Plus C. In that way, you can accumulate sentences to copy.
In the alternative, if you want to cut sentences to the clipboard,
substitute Control Plus X and Windows Plus X for the "C" as
suggested above. Hope this helps.

Very interesting, thanks for the tip. You don't actually have to
press F8 quickly as it seems to toggle between selecting word,
sentence, or paragraph you are in. This is certainly better than what
I have been doing, although it doesn't seem possible using the F8
method to then add the next sentence to your highlighted block of one
sentence, from what I have tried the selected area would jump from
your one sentence to the entire paragraph if you pressed F8 again.
