Hi Crystal, The command FS gave you "Iexplore -extoff" is to run internet
explorer with out loading any add ons. And yes it may fix the problem but if
you are using add ons for anything they will not be loaded and you may lose
some functionality you are used to.
This doesn't require safe mode so you won't have a problem with that.
You may want to give it a try to see if there is any change in IE's behavior.

Subject: response from FS

Hi,
I wrote to FS tech support about the two bugts in Jaws 12, the one where Jaws
goes quiet on web pages, and the broken UPS tracking in Research It.

I am pasting the answer below.

My question for the list has to do with the advice given for the web page issue.

Am I correct that Jaws won't talk in safe mode?

I don't have sighted assistance right to hand, so was wondering about this.

If anyone has tried this to resolve the issue, has it worked?

Thanks.
Crystal

Dear Crystal

Thank you for contacting Freedom Scientific technical Support. With the
internet explore issue, try runningthe internet explore software in safe mode
with extensions. Use the steps below:

1. Activate the run dialog "windows key+r"

2. 2 Type in:
Iexplore -extoff
And hit enter

See if the issue still take place. In regards to the Research it feature, our
developers are working on a fix for this in a future update.

Be sure to include all previous correspondence pertaining to this matter when
replying to this message so that we might better
assist you.
