No problem Cy. Thanks for clarifying things a bit.

  Bob,

Excuse me Sir, I should have noted that my experience with the “reply to
sender” has been with Microsoft Outlook, both 2003 and 2004.

Now, not particularly which version of JAWS, such as 9, 10, 11 or 12 but the
particular release within those versions.

Historically FS has released updates to the various versions and,
unfortunately, many times things which were fixed or repaired no longer work.

When I noted “the exact same circumstances” I intended to imply that the same
version of JAWS and the operating system however, sadly, Microsoft does release
updates to the operating system and, as with FS, sometimes these releases do
change certain settings which will change the performance or operation of third
party software.

So sorry not to be sufficiently specific or clear.

  Hi.

In an earlier message Cy said:

"The “reply to sender” has been a subject of many conversations. (LOLLOLLOL)

Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not even with the exact same
circumstances."

Technically this is an impossibility. The exact same circumstances will,
without doubt, lead to the same results.

Though this may seem to be nit picking, I don't mean it that way.

Yesterday I pointed out a set of circumstances in which the "reply to sender"
scripts seemed to work. They were using outlook express when the sender's name
is in the address book. I don't think the jaws version is important: I have
tried it on jaws 9, 10, 11 and 12, and they all worked as expected.

Yesterday I also pointed out a case in which the scripts did not work
correctly: when the sender's name was not in the address book. I'm assuming
that the scripts will work ok when the sender is an individual and not a group.
But this is a trivial case. Why not just use the "reply" keystroke ctrl+r.

I had hoped that others would site similar or contrary cases to mine. To my
knowledge it hasn't happened yet.

Here's still hoping for a serious discussion of this miscreant script.

      Hi,

The “reply to sender” has been a subject of many conversations.
(LOLLOLLOL)

Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not even with the exact same
circumstances.

The real killer is when JAWS dutifully reports “replying to sender”. You
think, Aha, got it whipped – until – you take a look at the “to” field and find
the email address of the group. (LOLLOLLOL)

This has been true from JAWS 9 forward and through XP, Vista and W7.

      Life is fun, enjoy it.

Okay, I may be on to something here (and, maybe not <lol>).

I took Dave's message as an example, and tried insert+shift+r. Jaws (or
outlook) tried to send the message back to the list. This is not what I wanted.

I then added Dave's name to my address book and tried again. Voilla! It
tried to send a message to Dave.

I am using 32-bit windows/xp home and outlook express with jaws 12 v252
(I think).

Nice instructions, but you did not specify which email client in which
you would use those instructions.

As someone has pointed out, each email client has its own method of
performing this function.

Once you find out who sent the message, go to Tools, add to address
book, sender, enter twice to add to addressbook, then forward or send a new
message to the name of the actual sender you just added to the addressbook.

Thanks for the info. And how do we reply to someone
off-list---Some people put their personal e-mail in the list message; others do
not. Didnt know if I was once again missing something.

            Hi,

If you need a new watch, talking or Braille, I would suggest you
visit the following site:

            http://www.futureaids.com

Their prices are very good and they do not charge for shipping.

Several folks on another list have replied to me saying that they
have used this company and that the products are as advertised and the return
policy is also good.

            HTH,

            Hi List,

My Braille and talking watches are dead. Im ashamed to say I
cant remember how to find out what time it is using my computer, which has
JAWS 11 with Windows 7. I remember at one time many moons ago control t got me
the time, but someone must have set that up for me. Can someone help?

            Thank you in advance.
