Yardbird, Christ and list,
I've indeed used 7.0, 7.1 and 8.0 and found that 7.0 is most stable of the three. The worst is 7.1 (due to so many bugs, I've stopped using it; I was particularly disappointed with how it handles HTML code, particularly not honoring sound schemes properly). * JAWS 8 is a bit stable than 7.1, but it does not match 7.0's stability level. * I've complained about this and reported this problem to Freedom Scientific Tech Support and received that it has been escalated; it was even mentioned in the first update bug fixes list, but it does not work at all (although it works on systems that already have 7.1 first release, it will not work on systems that have 7.1 update release). As I've said on an earlier post, a group wide petition regarding FS Tech Support and JAWS 8.0 Known Bug List is in order.
Cheers,
Joseph

Aha, Chris. Jaws 7.1 I never even
downloaded, after hearing so many
complaints about it on this list. And when
my temper grows short from
hassling with Jaws 8's bugs, I just exit and
launch Jaws 7. Although that
isn't what I'd prefer to do, of course. But
anyway, I can't comment on 7.1
at all, having simply skipped it.

Well, to me, JAWS 7.10 was much worse on my
system, but see? there
you have it again, it just illustrates the
point I made earlier. It
works fine on some systems, and others, it's
crap!

Discouraging? The short answer is definitely
yes. Jaws 8 is no gift. And
I'm not one of the people who gripe every
time a new version or a patch
update is released. But I haven't ever seen
such a lot of glitches in a
single version.

I meant to say bob cat. I thought I was
having trouble explaining it. Well
according to Bryan Tracy is doing his job
exactly as expected. Can I get
paid to type "reboot your computer>" I guess
we are suppose to send our
problems to suggestions. This is
discouraging isn't it.

Steve,
That's not so tricky that you've been hard
to understand. Same thing
happens
to me. Now I think of it, it often happens
when I delete a file from a
list
view in one of my folders in Windows
Explorer, too. So it's something
about
lists, not just about the email program.

well this is a tricky one to explain. As I
am replying to you, when I am
done I will hit alt s for send. then jaws
will say from boa cat. Now if
I
hit the delete key your message will go away
but jaws will still say
from
boa cat

Have you noticed that Jaws 8 has started
saying the names of all kinds
of
windows when they are no longer on the
screen? I guess they really
want
us
to know that Elvis has left the building.

I'm not sure I understand what you are
saying below, Steve.

outlook express. when you reply to a
message and
then delete it, jaws speaks the name of the
message you just deleted
when in
fact the next message is really on the
screen

Are you deleting the message you just
replyed to or are you deleting
the
message you are writing before you send it?

When I reply to an open message and send it,
I am taken back to the OE
message list. If I delete that message
without opening it again, focus
moves to the next message in the list.

I'm not sure how to duplicate the problem.

Well here is what Tracy told me to do about
outlook wxpress. We all
know
this doesn't work. All I want them to do is
say yes we are working on
it.
and you bet I forwarded this to Bryan.

4. Tab over to

I wonder if you are aware of the problems
that we are having with
jaws
8
and
outlook express. It started with jaws 7.
when you reply to a message
and

then delete it, jaws speaks the name of the
message you just deleted
when in
fact the next message is really on the
screen. I did write to you
about
this
once and Tracy told me to change some
settings and that is not the
problem.
Other people are experiencing this problem
also.
