RE: real speak solo direct:

It's not as responsive as Eloquence. There is a noticeable difference. I
use RealSpeak solo direct for reading long passages of text such as books,
articles, or pdf's. If I'm doing general navigation or word processing or,
if I need to get through a long document fast, I use Eloquence. The
realspeak voices sound pretty horrible to me when they're sped up unlike
eloquence which isn't trying to sound natural. I haven't tried doing this
in Jaws 10 but, I think you can still get Jaws to only activate realspeak
solo direct voices during Say All and use eloquence for all the rest. I use
multiple languages a lot so, this feature isn't something I'd use personally
but, you might look into it. Another thing you might do is look into using
an external sound card for your screen reader. I've heard that using an
external speech synthesizer can boost your responsiveness and the same may
be true if you use the reaspeak voices this way.

Best,

Alex
