RE: reading prior or next line without moving pc cursor

I just looked in Jaws help and did not see it either, so routing Jaws cursor
to PC cursor, then moving it up a line or down a line would not move the PC
cursor. It works, however, I have often wished for a faster method.

I would concur with your assessment Rose.
I have not found any way to move around without the use of the JAWS cursor.

Thanks for articulating this. I'm afraid it still doesn't sound like any
sort of situation I generally encounter, but maybe without knowing the
proper terminology-- template, etc.-- I run into something like this from
time to time and just ignore it, sort of, because the access my Jaws skils
afford me generally are sufficient to get me what I want.

Again, thanks.

It would be helpful in filling in templates, you land some place, don't want
to move the cursor but want to read what is on the current or the lines
above and below. I want the answer too. I know that you can press insert 7
on the keypad and read the current line from the left edge to the cursor
which helps.

However, I have had many occasions when I really don't want the PC cursor to
move but I want info around it. Short of going into review mood and using
the Jaws cursor I have not found a way but then I really have not looked.

Belatedly, I understood that. Can anyone explain what the purpose of this
idea is? I wouldn't ordinarily care or think about something like this in
relation to anything I do every day on the computer. In what sort of
situation would this trick be necessary? I'm really mystified by this
apparent power-user thing. Thanks.

And that moves the PC cursor yard. They don't want to move the PC cursor.

So far as I'm accustomed to doing, it's just either pres the up arrow key on
the num pad (the 8) to read the line above where you are, or the down arrow
key on the num pad (2) to read the line below.

Hi. My wife is taking a jaws test for a job. There are 2 questions that I
can not find the answers to. They both ask the key strokes to read the
prior line or next line without moving the pc cursor. I know of no key
stroke to do this without resorting to using the jaws cursor. Is there such
a keystroke?

Many thanks
phil
