problem withJFW 9.0 and laptop

Hi list,
I just installed JFW 9.0 on my laptop, and although it's installed as a demo for the time being, it won't read menus. I can press alt f or whatever and jaws won't read the list of options in the menu.
I had ordered jaws 7.1 standard, but I found out after I installed it that they sent me jaws9.0 and I don't know if it's standard or professional. I asked for the standard version.
I got the laptop because I'm leaving next week for the Carol Center and wanted something to do when I'm not in class. I don't know how to fix this.
