This sounds similar to what is happening to me. I press Ctrl+y go to the In Box or whatever and prss enter. I am then in a no window is active situation. If I press F6 I am taken to the in box or whatever I wanted. It's as if some other window is active except that pressing another F6 doesn't take me back the no focus situation it, in fact does nothing.
