outlook and no window is active

Using jfw 6, xp home and xp office outlook, with a radeon9200 card, jaws
states that "no window is active" when ever I shift tab out of a folder in
order to pick another folder to go into. For example, changing from inbox to
jaws folder.One should be able to just do a shift tab, then hit "J" to move
to jfw in the treeview list but when I do this jaws does not state that I am
in the jfw folder.
If I just shift tab and then arrow up or down the treeview list, jaws will
not read the list or I am imediately put into the folder.
If this sounds all confusing, join the club.
